This is an ancient seafloor formed over millions of years of sedimentation. Over the centuries, this 30-metre high, abrupt, stupa shaped mountain, is honored by the Mongolians. Millions of years ago, this area was completely covered by ocean. The traveler will be amazed by the stunning lunar landscapes that resemble the edge of the world.
The mountain canyon derives its name from Yol, a vulture. Situated at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level, this valley in Mongolia stands out as the deepest, eventually transforming into a narrow canyon. When paleontologists were traveling from Beijing to Uliastai, in Mongolia, they got lost on the way. While looking for the way back, they accidentally saw a fossil in Bayanzag.
